The new owner of a corporate jet suspected salt-water damage to its engines. The broker denied such damage. The owner’s attorney hired Talus Group to get evidence for chain of ownership and specifically to determine whether the aircraft was damaged in the tsunami that struck Sendai Airport on March 11, 2011.
Talus Group’s researchers in Japan and the U.S., working a variety of official and unofficial sources, obtained interviews, documentation and photographs proving damage to the aircraft and showing how it was deregistered, crated and shipped to the USA, where it was reconditioned and sold. The owner was not told any of that when he bought the jet.
